When you decide to draw up a sign accusing others of being incompetent you might want to double-check your spelling. Competence is the ability to perform a specific task, action or function successfully. Incompetence is its opposite.

Who Was Antonio J. Martinez?

When he was born:  Regular steamboat service from the west to the east coast of the United States begins with the arrival of the SS California in San Francisco Bay. The California leaves New York Harbor on October 6, 1848, rounds Cape Horn at the tip of South America, and arrives at San Francisco, California after the 4 month 21 day journey.

When he died:  In France, the First Battle of the Somme rages. British Expeditionary Force commander Douglas Haig calls off the battle, which started on July 1, on November 18, 1916.

President Obama, along with his wife, Jill Biden and the Vice President react to the stunning 5 - 4 loss by the Brevard Blaze.  "The Blaze is a great team," the President was heard to say.  "I am sure they will be back!"

The Mighty Chargers of the Divine Mercy Soccer Club Got Burned by the Blaze!

American Rules Football Coach Urban Meyer shows the Cocoa Beach Blaze what is waiting for them at the end of the season, as he holds the CBS Spring Season Trophy cradled in his arm. Coach Meyer was excited to learn of the CBS Blazes’ stunning 5 -3 victory over the mighty Chargers of Divine Mercy. “This team is just like the ‘Gators,” coach Meyer was overheard saying, “not only do they wear the orange and blue of the Dutch National team, but, they put their best players on defense.”

Blaze Wins! Blaze Wins!

Riddled with disease and racked by illness, the Cocoa Beach Blaze limped into a contest with the Merritt Island powerhouse CBS242 -- Beckman. Snuffling and sneezing their way down the field the beach-side Blaze eked out a 7 - 5 win over their long-time rivals.

Next game? Game number 2 is March 14, 2009 at 08:30 AM (Again?!?!?!?). The Blaze is home at KWS2 versus the always scrappy DMS243 - Carlile.

Next practice is Tuesday at 5:45 pm. (Let’s push the start time back a few minutes now that the sun is out longer).

Kickoff at 8:30 am (Be there at 8:00) Eight O'clock! Are you kidding? Eight?!

Game on Thursday

There will be a practice game this Thurday at 5:00 pm. Wear an orange shirt with Black pants and black socks. Don't forget your shinguards. Practice game Thursday, March 5th. Kickoff will be at 5:00 pm, so we need to try and get to the Cocoa Beach Field as close to 4:30 as we can.

Wear black pants and socks with an Orange shirt of some kind.

Do not forget our first game:

First Game: Players should arrive one half hour before kickoff with their ball.
